Essential Air Services Programme (Public Service Obligation)

Essential Air Services Programme Public Service Obligation (PSO)

Under EU Council Regulation (EEC) No. 2408/92 of 23rd July 1992, the Government has established Public Service Obligation (PSO) air services at a number of airports in Ireland, on the basis that these services are considered vital for the economic development of their regions, and that they would not be provided on a commercial basis. The services involved connect Sligo, Donegal, Knock, Kerry, Galway and Derry with Dublin.

Current contracts are in place for services between Dublin and the Regional airports Kerry, Galway, Sligo, Knock, Donegal and Derry commencing on 22nd July to 21st July 2008.
