SmarterTravel Demonstration Project Fund: Minister Dempsey launched this project fund in June 2009. The aim of the fund is to support sustainable transport demonstration projects that act to implement the vision set out in the Smarter Travel policy and Irelands First National Cycle policy. Bike Week: Irelands first national bike week ran from June 14th to June 21st. Bikeweek events occurred all over the country, including a family fun day in the Phoenix Park, a Fathers Day cycle in Clare and a sponsored spin for Chernobyl in Kildare.
