The Department of the Marine and Natural Resources wishes to advise that the Offshore Drilling Unit, "West Navion" is due to commence drilling operations in Block 5/22, approximately 85 nautical miles of the northwest coast of County Donegal, on or around 23 March, 2001.

The planned position of the drilling unit is:

 Well 5/22-A  Latitude 56º 11 12.72 N
    Longitude 09º 45 06.67W

The unit is expected to remain in position until the end of May 2001.

Accordingly, all shipping is required to give "WEST NAVION" a wide berth of at least 500 metres.

Radio Navigation Warnings will be broadcast for the first 30 days of the drilling operations.

A further Marine Notice will issue on completion of the works.
