Marine Notice No. 38 of 2008 - Corrib Field Development - Pipelaying Operations

The Department of Transport wishes to advise that pipe-laying operations will shortly commence along the planned pipeline route from Broad Haven Bay, in North West County Mayo to the Corrib Gas Field.

The work will consist of laying a gas production pipeline from the pipe-lay vessel M/V SOLITAIRE, callsign 3ECI8.  Work will commence on 26th/27th of August 2008 and last for approximately 28 days.  The exact timing of works of this nature are subject to prevailing weather conditions at sea.   Pipeline route is from position 54˚ 16' 59'' N, 09˚ 49' 12'' W in Broad Haven Bay to position 54˚ 20' 34'' N - 011˚ 03' 51'' W.

The M/V SOLITAIRE will be attended by two pipe supply vessels operating between Killybegs and the pipe-lay vessel. Their details are:- M/V HAVILA FAITH callsign C6XB7 and M/V HAVILA FAVOUR callsign LNMG.

All mariners are reminded of their responsibilities under the International Collision Regulations and are reminded of Marine Notice No.17 of 2007, which gives general advice in relation to the activities of vessels engaged in survey work for hydrographic, seismic, fishing research and underwater operations.

All vessels in the vicinity are requested to give a one nautical mile clearance to each side of the planned pipeline route.  All vessels are requested to monitor the Radio Navigational Warnings that will be broadcast for the duration of the works. All vessels involved in the operations will be listening on VHF CH. 16 throughout the project.
