This document contains the executive summary of the 'Review of the Regulatory Framework for Provision of Bus Services Outside the Greater Dublin Area.' It contains recommendations for a regulatory framework that meets the objectives of the State's public transport policy. It provides an overview of the range of regulatory options and their respective merits and failings. The Review goes on to describe the approach taken to evaluation of the options, based on a series of case studies. The results of the analysis for specific markets, together with recommendations for future regulatory policy are then described. Finally, proposals for a supporting institutional framework are set out along with overall conclusions.
