REPLY
On 4th April the Government noted the proposals brought by myself and the Minister for Finance for the implementation an investment transaction for Aer Lingus by means of an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of shares in the company.
Following consideration of the matter by Government I mandated our advisors to commence preparations immediately for the IPO. I also mandated the company to engage with the trade unions on the key issues raised by the trade unions. The preparatory work for the transaction is now well underway with a view to completion as soon as possible taking account of stock exchange rules and market conditions.
