Drilling Operations off the North West Coast of Ireland. Offshore Drilling Unit "Jack Bates"  

The Department of the Communications, Marine and Natural Resources wishes to advise that the Offshore Drilling Unit, Jack Bates will commence drilling operations approximately 65 miles north west of Bloody Foreland, County Donegal on 30 April 2003.

The planned position of the drilling unit is:

55 Degrees 55' 20.593" N,     009 Degrees 39' 08.769" W


The drilling unit is estimated to remain in position for approximately fifty days.


All shipping is requested to give the drilling unit Jack Bates a wide berth of at least 500 metres.
