Notice To all Shipowners, Agents, Shipmasters, Skippers, Yachtsmen, Seafarers, Small Boat Operators, Property Owners and Harbour Users.
The Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources wishes to advise that construction works have commenced at Port Oriel, Clogherhead, Co Louth.
Construction works will comprise piling, earthworks and dredging and will involve diving operations and the use of floating marine plant.
Due to the extent of the construction works the main pier, inner harbour and slipway at Port Oriel have been closed to all marine craft. It will not be possible for craft to access these facilities until the completion of the construction works, in June 2006.
Radio navigation warnings will be broadcast daily
Accordingly, for safety reasons mariners are requested to keep clear of the general vicinity of Port Oriel and to avoid approaching the pier or any craft engaged in the construction works.
